Want to be better at drawing?
Want to be a great
artist?
Here's a great
strategy to practice building the muscles of
your right brain:
TURN
IT UPSIDE DOWN!
That's right. When
you turn a picture upside down it confuses the
logical left brain. So, the right brain kicks in
and takes over the process.
Find some pictures
of things you'd like to draw. Then turn them
upside down and draw what you see.
Notice that your
brain now starts to see the shapes more clearly
and that the judgmental side of your left brain
doesn't interrupt and say, "that doesn't look
right". So, now that your critic is turned off,
keep drawing and you'll be amazed at how quickly
your skills can improve. |
